# 1 Leonard Shelby | Memento
And number one is….
Leonard Shelby.
If you’ve followed me for some time you should know that Memento is my favorite movie of all time. So it’s not really a surprise that my number one top movie character is Leonard, also because the movie focuses on him and for almost the whole movie you’re in his head so you really get to “know” him.
This movie totally changed my view about movies, it means so much to me, and it wouldn’t have if I wasn’t emotionally attached to Leonard. Guy Pearce does an incredible job playing this character and Nolan wrote him just so well, it’s impossible for me not to feel anything towards him during the movie.
I’m not going to spoil the end of the movie, but when you understand everything about John G. and Leonard… my heart broke. Like, I’ve never felt so much sadness and sympathy for a fictional character. This isn’t even a movie based on a true story, so the character isn’t real. Yet I can’t help but feel emotionally devastated at the end of the movie.

#2 Billy Costigan| The Departed
Ok first of all I love Leonardo DiCaprio and I think he is one of the most underrated actors ever. Of course people knows him and he is famous but he still hasn’t won anything for his work, his talent hasn’t been recognize in the movies industry yet. He has always been amazing in all the movies he’s been in but his character in The Departed just… gets to me like crazy. He did lots of amazing characters but I only feel this way about Billy Costigan.
I just care so much about him and it’s insane how my love for him grew while watching the movie for the first time. I didn’t really cared much for him at the beginning and at the end I was in tears. Seriously, I don’t think many people understand my love for this character, it’s almost as if I could feel his emotions and I just… The Departed wouldn’t be one of my favorite movies if it wasn’t for Billy. The end of the movie still emotionally kills me. Every. Time.
If you haven’t seen this movie yet, you should definitely check it out. It’s one of the few movies that won the oscar for Best Picture that I actually liked.

#3 Woody | Toy Story (trilogy)
I don’t even have to tell you how much this character means to me. Lots of people feel the same way I do about the Toy Story trilogy and come on you know you felt like crap at the end of the third movie. We grew up with those toys and love them so much.
I choose just Woody, however, because as much as I love all of them, Woody is just special. It’s not until I saw the very last scene of Toy Story 3 that I understood just how much I love Woody. When Andy talks about him to bonnie… sigh I always cry.

#5-4 Jake and Elwood Blues | The Blues Brothers
Not only is this one of my favorite movie, but these two guys are just one of the best duo I’ve ever seen in a movie. You can’t help but love them and care about their “mission”. They are just epic, I think even the people who haven’t seen the movie knows them. Also, I can’t pick just one over the other, they are amazing because they are together.
